NCP's Nasiruddin Patwary declares assets worth Tk40 lakh in election affidavit

Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has submitted his wealth statement to election commission ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections, revealing movable assets worth Tk40 lakh.
According to the affidavit, published on the Election Commission website, Patwary's wealth is primarily in movable assets, with no immovable properties such as land or buildings.
Patwary reportedly holds Tk25 lakh in cash, approximately Tk18,000 in bank accounts across Standard Chartered Bank, BRAC Bank, and Dutch-Bangla Bank, along with gold worth Tk10 lakh, electronics valued at Tk40,000, and furniture worth Tk1 lakh.
However, his income tax return for the 2025-26 period lists his total assets at Tk26,30,300.
His wife has assets estimated at Tk23 lakh, including Tk5 lakh in cash, more than Tk6.19 lakh in bank deposits, and gold valued at Tk12 lakh.

His total annual income stands at Tk4,47,333, comprising Tk2,02,000 from his current consultancy work and Tk2,45,333 from employment.
Patwary has no pending criminal cases. He was previously accused in two cases filed in 2013, one under the Explosive Substances Act and another under various section of penal code, but was acquitted of both charges in February and June 2025.
The affidavit shows no outstanding loans or debts for Patwary or his family.
