Khaleda Zia taken to Evercare Hospital for late night medical check-up
“Whether she will be admitted to the hospital will be decided by the doctors after necessary tests and examinations,” says the BNP chairperson’s personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka shortly in the wee hours of Thursday (24 July) for a medical check-up.
According to BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan, the former prime minister left her Gulshan residence, Firoza, at around 1:18am Thursday and headed to the hospital under the supervision of her medical team.
"She has been taken for her regular health examinations," he told Prothom Alo.
When asked whether she would be admitted, Shairul said, "We hope she will return home after the necessary urgent tests are completed."
Khaleda, who has been suffering from multiple chronic health complications for many years, has been receiving treatment under a specialised medical board at Evercare Hospital for the past few years.
Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, the BNP chairperson's personal physician, also told the media that she was taken to the hospital as part of her routine medical check-up.
"Whether she [Khaleda Zia] will be admitted to the hospital will be decided by the doctors after necessary tests and examinations," he added.
Notably, this is the second time Khaleda has gone to the hospital for a check-up since returning home in May from London, where she received medical treatment for four months.
The 79-year-old has been receiving treatment at her home under the supervision of a medical board comprising specialists from both Evercare Hospital and her personal team of doctors.
During her stay in London, Khaleda received advanced medical care under the supervision of liver specialist Prof Patrick Kennedy.
Her travel to London and return home were facilitated by a special air ambulance provided by Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Before departing for London, the BNP chairperson last visited Evercare Hospital on 12 September last year for a health check-up.
