JnUCSU election on 22 Dec
The schedule for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election has been announced, with voting set to take place on 22 December.
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Mostafa Hasan made the announcement at the teachers' lounge of the Shaheed Sajid Academy Building yesterday.
He said the final code of conduct for the election will be published on the university's official election portal today (5 November). The draft voter list will be released on 6 November, with objections received and resolved on 9 and 10 November. The final voter list will be published on 12 November.
According to the schedule, candidates may collect nomination forms on 13, 16, and 17 November from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Submission of nomination papers will take place on 17 and 18 November during the same hours.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on 19 and 20 November, and the preliminary list of candidates will be announced on 23 November. Objections to candidacies will be received and settled on 24, 25, and 26 November.
Dope tests for candidates are scheduled for 27 and 30 November, with the final list of candidates to be published on 3 December.
Candidates will have the option to withdraw nominations on 4, 7, and 8 December, and the final list of contesting candidates will be announced on 9 December.
Election campaigning, in accordance with the code of conduct, will be permitted from 9 to 19 December. Voting will take place on 22 December from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with results expected on the same day or on 23 December, depending on the completion of counting.

Election Commissioners Professor Md Shahidul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Law; Professor Dr Kaniz Fatema Kakli of the Department of Physics; Professor Dr Md Zulfiqar Mahmud of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Associate Professor Dr Md Anisur Rahman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture were present during the announcement.
