Jamaat preparing 'policy paper' along with election manifesto
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has started finalising its election manifesto along with a special 'policy paper' on state administration ahead of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election.
The party's Central Executive Council held discussions to this end at an emergency meeting at their office in Dhaka this morning (17 January). Jamaat Assistant Secretary General and head of its central publicity and media department Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, confirmed the development to the media.
"In this election, Jamaat is not only preparing its manifesto but also drafting a special policy paper on various aspects of state administration for the future. Several experts from outside the party are also participating in this process," he said.
"If any party assumes responsibility for the state through the people's vote, a clear and precise policy is essential for state management. We are preparing that, which will be presented to the nation in phases."
Zubair further mentioned that the Jamaat's election campaign will officially begin on 22 January. The detailed campaign schedule was expected to be finalised during today's meeting.
The Jamaat leader also said the party's liaison committee is working on alliance matters. "The final decision regarding 47 constituencies will be made based on the committee's recommendation."
The Central Executive Council also discussed the current political situation, the role of the Election Commission, level playing field, and law and order situation, he said.
