Hasnat dismisses AB Party's allegations of BNP, NCP seat-sharing in upcoming polls as 'false, misleading'
We also observed attempts in the aforementioned discussion to create a false impression that the NCP seeks to delay the election to strengthen its organisational structure, he says

National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organiser (South) Hasnat Abdullah has dismissed Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party chairman's claims that his party engaged in negotiations with the BNP over seat-sharing in the upcoming national election.
In a Facebook post today (31 May), Hasnat wrote, "With due respect, we want to clearly assert that the claim of any seat-sharing deal with BNP or any other party is completely baseless."
"The NCP has not held any discussions regarding seat-sharing with any political party. Therefore, the remarks made by the political leader are false and misleading," he added.
The response comes after AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan Manju, in a recent virtual talk show, claimed that the NCP had negotiated with the BNP under the table, suggesting they have an understanding of seat-sharing over 50 to 70 constituencies.
He also speculated that such a deal could lead to early elections by September.
Rejecting this, Hasnat said, "We also observed attempts in the aforementioned discussion to create a false impression that the NCP seeks to delay the election to strengthen its organisational structure.
Since its inception, however, the NCP has consistently called for justice, reform, and a clear electoral roadmap."
Reiterating the NCP's stance, he wrote, "Given the failure of past elections under the Awami League to reflect the people's voting rights, the upcoming polls must be free, fair, and impartial. A level playing field must be ensured through necessary administrative reforms."
He further wrote, "To ensure the people's right to vote, a fair Constituent Assembly and parliamentary election must be held between this December and next June through a reform process based on the July Charter.
"Additionally, the interim government must issue the promised July Proclamation."
The NCP leader also urged all stakeholders to avoid confusion and unite around the agenda of justice, reform, and a credible electoral roadmap.
