Gono Odhikar Parishad demands local elections first, suspension of AL registration
Measures should be taken to ensure that expatriates are able to cast their votes in the upcoming elections, Party President Nurul Haque Nur says
The Gono Odhikar Parishad today (20 February) called for local elections to be held first in the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections.
The party also demanded the cancellation or suspension of the registration of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations.
Party President Nurul Haque Nur made the demands while speaking to reporters at the Election Commission building after meeting with the chief election commissioner and other commissioners.

Nurul further urged that if no activity is observed based on updated information regarding the "King Parties", their registration should be suspended as well.
"Measures should be taken to ensure that expatriates are able to cast their votes in the upcoming elections," he said.
