Two new panels raise the total contenders for Cucsu and hall union elections to 11

Two new panels were announced today (20 September) by the Bishwo Insaniyat Biplob Student Front and the Sarbojonin Shikkharthi Sangshad, bringing the total number contesting the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Cucsu) and hall union elections to 11.
This follows earlier declarations by Shibir, Chhatra Dal and seven other groups.
At a press conference in front of the Cucsu building, the Bishwo Insaniyat Biplob Student Front introduced a five-member panel under the banner Revolution for State of Humanity.
Kefayet Ullah has been nominated for vice-president (VP), Kazi Shahriar Ullah for general secretary (GS), and Junaed Shibli for assistant general secretary (AGS). Tahsin Karimul Islam will contest for office secretary, while Sabiha Tahsin Srija is a candidate for communications and accommodation secretary.

The Sarbojonin Shikkharthi Shangshad — backed by the Chhatra Odhikar Parishad and Islami Chhatra Majlis — also announced its panel at a press conference held at the university's Arts Faculty canteen.
The panel nominated Tamjid Uddin for VP, Sakib Mahmud Rumi for GS, and Roman Rahman for AGS posts.
Nine panels had been declared earlier. The preliminary candidate list for Cucsu and hall union elections will be published on 21 September, with the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy set for 3:30pm on 23 September.
The final list of candidates will be released on 25 September.
The election is scheduled for 12 October, with a total of 27,634 registered voters.
