'Boichitrer Oikya' panel unveils eight-point manifesto for Cucsu elections

The "Boichitrer Oikya" (unity in diversity) panel has unveiled its comprehensive eight-point manifesto for the forthcoming Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Cucsu) elections, articulating a vision rooted in democratic principles, rights-based unity, inclusive education, and opposition to campus domination.
The manifesto was announced today (9 October) at 2:30pm in front of the CUCSU building. The panel's Vice President candidate, Dhrubo Barua, General Secretary candidate Sudarshan Chakma, and Assistant General Secretary candidate Zakirul Islam Jasim read out the key points to the press.
The manifesto lays out a comprehensive agenda, encompassing the creation of a secure campus, resolution of housing challenges, enhancement of food, health, and environmental standards, advancement of education and research, promotion of culture and sports, cultivation of ethnic diversity and women-friendly facilities, improvement of transportation systems, and the reinforcement of democratic governance, autonomy, and human rights.
Dhrubo Barua said, "We will work to create a safe academic environment free from terror and domination. Students will be united against mob violence and moral policing, ensuring women's safety on campus. We will promote safe coexistence of life, nature, and students."
He added that within the first month of assuming office, the panel would draft a "Campus Charter" based on feedback from all stakeholders to ensure a secure and violence-free academic environment.
Other panel members present at the press briefing included Sports Secretary candidate Laltan Sang Bawm, Literature and Culture Secretary Emdad Ullah Sakib, Assistant Secretary Shamsunnahar Rumi, Office Secretary Ramra Sain Marma, Female Welfare Secretary Mosa Sumaiya Shikdar, Assistant Female Welfare Secretary Umme Sabah Tabassum Shuddhata, and other candidates.
