Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said now BNP makes people and police as their opponents and they are making their ill attempts to get involved in conflicts deliberately.

"BNP makes people and police as their opponents. The people have completely realized the ill-politics of BNP. The party is now making their ill efforts to get involved in conflicts deliberately," he said.

Quader was addressing the council of AL's Tarash upazila, Sirajganj unit virtually from his official residence on parliament premises in Dhaka.

He said AL never hatches conspiracy rather it becomes victim of conspiracies again and again.

There is no scope of government changeover without polls in democratic system, he said adding that parliamentary elections will be held in due time as per the constitution.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has the courage to accept the people's verdict in polls.

Noting that now there is no issue in the country to wage movement, the AL general secretary said BNP is now in crisis of issue to wage movement because of the pro-people politics of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

About BNP's allegations that the government has found BNP's involvement in Al Jazeera report, Quader said such allegation is not correct and actually the AL has already said that scrutiny is underway to find out who are behind the Al Jazeera's propaganda.

Turning to own party politics, he said new committees should be formed through holding councils at the district, upazila, thana, union and ward units whose tenures have already expired.

He urged the party men to evaluate dedicated workers in the committees.

AL Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Sirajganj district AL acting president Hossain Ali Hasan, acting general secretary Abdus Samad, lawmakers Tanvir Shakil Joy and Prof Abdul Aziz, former lawmaker valiant freedom fighter Amzad Hossain Milon, among others, addressed the council.

Tarash Upazila AL President Abdul Haque chaired the function which was moderated by its general secretary Sanjit Karmaker.
