BNP to prioritise highest investment in education, health sectors: Khasru
The significance of students’ education has now reached the political level in the country, says Khasru
The BNP will give top priority to the education and health sectors in building the future of Bangladesh, party Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said today (25 November).
"The largest share of our budget would be allocated to the education sector. The highest investment will also be for the health system," he said while speaking at a reception for meritorious SSC and HSC students organised by Chattogram city BNP at the Engineers' Institution auditorium this afternoon.
He added, "We have many more responsibilities related to the environment and other issues."
Emphasising the importance of the education system, Khasru said, "The significance of students' education has now reached the political level in the country. The future of Bangladesh depends on their merit, skills, and education."
Highlighting the BNP's vision for education, he said the party is planning what the future of Bangladesh and its education system should look like, including teacher training and modern learning approaches.
"Alongside studies, sports, music, drama, and theatre are also essential. These aspects will also be introduced into the future education system," the BNP leader added.
Speaking about plans to improve the health system, he noted that many people in the country still struggle to afford even two meals a day.
"If the body is not healthy, talent cannot flourish. That is why we will ensure free primary healthcare for all, Inshallah. Preventive healthcare services will also be introduced," he said.
Amir Khasru called on the youth to take an active role, saying, "The BNP cannot achieve this alone. Everyone's cooperation is essential. Talented young students must come forward."
