BNP to focus on improving living standards, creating jobs: Tarique
“If we can turn our population into human resources, it will be a blessing for the nation,” he said.

Creating employment and improving people's living standards will be the core focus of BNP's politics if voted to power, the party's acting chairperson Tarique Rahman said today (12 August).
"Providing jobs for the able-bodied and unemployed, and improving the quality of people's lives will be among BNP's main political goals," he said while virtually addressing a discussion titled 'Youth Expectations and BNP's Vision for the Future of Bangladesh'.
Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal jointly organised the event at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka to mark International Youth Day.
Tarique said that if Bangladesh moves forward with courage and integrity, avoiding a politics of revenge and vengeance, prosperity will be inevitable.
"If we can turn our population into human resources, it will be a blessing for the nation," he said, adding that young people across the world are the driving force of their economies.
He noted that the BNP believes the days of slogan-based politics are over. "People want change from traditional politics. They want implementation, not just promises. BNP believes in fulfilling promises," he said.
Tarique also said that if BNP is voted into power, it will implement initiatives and plans to help the country's youth face global technological challenges and take advantage of technological opportunities.
Calling on young people to build their skills in technology, he said, "BNP is working on every possible measure to support your success journey. We believe that to build a technology-driven youth force, we must enhance technical skills, and ensure the proper use and teaching of technology."
