Awami League activists break into party office in Sunamganj, chant slogans

Leaders and activists of the banned Awami League broke the lock of an abandoned party office in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj, entered the premises and chanted "Joy Bangla" slogans.

However, Tahirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Aminul Islam said he was not aware of the incident.
The office, located in Sripur North union, had remained abandoned since the July Uprising.
The footage shows four to five young men breaking the iron chain and lock of the shutter and entering the office. They later hung a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman there and chanted slogans.
According to locals, those in the video include Manik Akhanji, Mukhtar Hossain Akhanji, Jaminur Akhanji and Imanur, who are followers of local leader Noman Bakht Polin of the banned Chhatra League.
They were also heard saying, "Sheikh Hasina will return, Bangladesh will smile."
