2 held after crude bombs explode during AL procession in Gulshan
Police recover five unexploded crude bombs from scene
Two people were detained after two crude bombs exploded during a procession by activists of the activities banned Awami League and its affiliated organisations in Dhaka's Gulshan-1 today (11 September).
The incident occurred in front of Bhola Mosque around 11:45am as police attempted to disperse the procession participants.
The detainees were identified as Abdur Rahim, 49, and Arafat, 20, according to police.

Five unexploded crude bombs were also recovered from the scene.
A video circulating on social media showed a group of people marching and chanting "Joy Bangla" as police tried to disperse the procession.
Daud Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gulshan police station, confirmed the incident to The Business Standard.
"Activists of the banned organisation attempted to hold a procession in Gulshan-1. When police moved to disperse them, they exploded two crude bombs. Police responded by firing two rounds of rubber bullets," he said.
"Two people were detained from the scene, and five unexploded crude bombs were recovered," he added.
The OC said police were preparing a case against the detainees under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
