All set for polls, ballot printing completed: Cucsu EC
The commission has already completed preparations for ballot boxes, papers, and manpower deployment to ensure smooth polling.

All preparations have been completed for the upcoming Chittagong University Central Students' Union (Cucsu) election, including the printing of ballot papers and the arrangement of ballot boxes, according to the university authorities.
Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with journalists at the university's Senate Building today (12 October), Cucsu Chief Election Commissioner Professor Munir Uddin said the university is fully prepared to hold the election on 15 October.
He stated that general students are showing great enthusiasm about the upcoming Cucsu polls.
"All campaign activities will end on 14 October. We hope to conduct a credible and participatory election," he said.
Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Yahya Akhtar said, "We have prioritised the students' needs and demands. Despite having four layers of security, our real strength lies in our 30,000 students, we have full confidence in them."
Earlier, the election date was rescheduled to 15 October from 12 October after candidates raised concerns about insufficient time for campaigning.
The commission has already completed preparations for ballot boxes, papers, and manpower deployment to ensure smooth polling.
Voting will take place across 60 rooms in different university buildings, with each room accommodating around 400–500 voters. The commission assured that each voter will have sufficient time to cast their vote.
Each faculty dean will act as a returning officer, while department chairmen will serve as presiding officers. Faculty members will serve as assistant presiding officers. Every polling centre will have a magistrate on duty, along with an election commissioner assigned to each centre to ensure fair.
To ensure transparency, CCTV cameras will be installed at all centres, and live polling activities will be displayed outside each centre through LED screens.
The commission has also prepared a voter list with photographs. Continuous internet and electricity supply will be maintained at the polling centres with the help of UPS and generators.
