Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal said, "Police fired on the agitated people in Bhola in self-defence."

He also expressed deep sorrow over the incident and the reported death of four people.

The home minister made the comments while talking to the media at his secretariat office today.

The minister said, "We will ask Facebook to look into the hacked id and then take action accordingly."

He also said that law enforcement agencies are on the alert to avoid any unwanted situation there, and gave an assurance that the culprits will be brought to book.

On Sunday, four people were killed and hundreds injured in Bhola's Borhanuddin upazila in clashes between police and local people. The local people were demonstrating for punishment of a youth who, they claimed, had hurt their religious sentiment in a Facebook post.
