PM discusses new pay scale with finance ministry officials ahead of Cabinet approval
Ministry officials said the meeting focused on how the government would arrange the funds needed to implement the new scale.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a meeting with finance ministry officials this morning (31 August) to discuss the proposed new pay scale ahead of its Cabinet approval later today.
The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division, PM's Economic and Planning Adviser Rashid Al Mahmud Titumir told The Business Standard.
Titumir said the prime minister discussed the pay scale in detail ahead of its presentation to Cabinet this afternoon.
Ministry officials said the meeting focused on how the government would arrange the funds needed to implement the new scale.
They also briefed the prime minister on the potential financial impact of implementing the new structure.
Titumir and Finance Secretary Dr Khayeruzzaman Majumder attended the meeting.
The proposed new pay scale will be placed before the Cabinet for approval at its meeting at 5pm today.
