Osmani airport cleaner injured as Ansar member fires shotgun to scare away birds
Authorities say the shooting was not intentional; it occurred accidentally.
A cleaner was injured after being hit by a gunshot fired by an Ansar member at Sylhet Osmani International Airport this morning (26 September).
The injured cleaner, Rubel Ahmed, has been admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred around 10am on the airport's runway.

According to airport sources, Ansar member Mozammel was patrolling the runway in a vehicle when he fired a shot from his shotgun to drive away birds. The bullet struck Rubel, who was working nearby, in the waist.
A witness said there is a rule requiring Ansar members to get out of the vehicle before firing at birds, but Mozammel fired while sitting inside the vehicle, resulting in the incident.
Osmani International Airport Director Hafiz Ahmed said, "The shooting was not intentional; it occurred accidentally. The cleaner's injuries are also not critical."
"We will look into whether there was any violation of rules or negligence in the incident," he added.
