One killed, four injured in Tangail road crash

A man was killed and four others were critically injured after a head on collision between a truck and microbus on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Bangabandhu Bridge area in Tangail today.

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, a passenger of the microbus.

"A North Bengal-bound truck left from Dhaka collided head-on with the microbus around 7:30am, leaving Habibur dead on the spot," said Kazi Ayubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Habibur and rescued the injured, the OC said.

The vehicles are in police custody, he added.

The body was sent to the Tangail General Hospital for autopsy.
