Newly elected ward councillor arrested for harassing cop

Police on Monday arrested newly elected Councillor of Dhaka North City's No. 23 ward Shakhawat Hossain for harassing an inspector of special branch.
"The Awami League-backed councilor is being interrogated at the detective police's headquarters in the capital," said Zulfikar Ali, assistant commissioner of Khilgaon zone.
The Inspector filed a case with Khilgaon police station in this connection.

Shakhawat, also an Awami League general secretary of the ward, was arrested from Rampura area in the capital.
