In flood-affected areas of Feni, new clothes are being offered at a nominal price, thanks to the mobile shopping mall initiative by the volunteer organisation Prochesta Foundation.

Since 14 September, the organisation has been selling sarees, lungis, maxis, shirts, t-shirts, and children's clothes from trucks in various upazilas across Feni.

At the mobile shops, t-shirts, lungis, and children's clothes are being sold for just Tk10, while shirts and maxis are available for Tk20. Sarees are being sold for only Tk30.

Md Nazmul Hasan, director of Prochesta Foundation, said, "We are carrying out this initiative across three upazilas of Feni, with support from organisations such as Amrai Agami, YouthNet Global, Feni Central Leo Club, Proyash, and Eco Revolution."

Ikram Uddin Abir, founder and general secretary of Prochesta Foundation, explained that the initiative is funded by the Azimur Rokeya Rahman Trust and aims to distribute new clothes to around 10,000 people in the flood-hit regions.

"We designed this initiative with the middle and lower-middle classes in mind so that they do not feel embarrassed to accept the clothes at a nominal price," Abir added.

This thoughtful effort has brought relief to flood-affected families, enabling them to purchase new clothes without the hesitance of receiving relief.
