NCP expands Political Council with 6 new members
The Political Council is regarded as the highest policymaking forum within the party’s central committee
Six more leaders have been inducted into the Political Council (PC) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), bringing the total number of members to 18.
The Political Council is regarded as the highest policymaking forum within the party's central committee.
The newly appointed members are Joint Conveners and Members of Parliament Nusrat Tabassum, Sarwar Tushar, and Ali Ahsan Junaid.
Also included are Joint Member Secretaries Akram Hossain CF and Saleh Uddin Sifat, as well as Joint Chief Organiser and Member of Parliament Dr Mahamuda Mitu.
According to a press release sent to the media last night (11 June) by Sadia Farzana Dinar, a member of the NCP Office Cell, the six central leaders were inducted into the Political Council under the directives of the party Convener Md Nahid Islam, and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
Recently, two Members of Parliament, Joint Convener Dr Atik Mujahid and Joint Member Secretary Advocate Abdullah Al Amin, were also included in the Political Council.
Prior to their inclusion, the council comprised 10 members: Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam, Member Secretary and Member of Parliament Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organiser (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Chief Organiser (Southern Region) and Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah, spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adib, Senior Joint Member Secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud.
