Nazrul Islam Khan to lead new BNP election committee, Rizvi named member secretary
The decision was announced in a press release on Thursday (1 January).
The BNP has formed a Central Election Steering Committee for the 13th national parliamentary election, appointing the party's Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan as chairman and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi as member secretary.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by Rizvi tonight (1 January).
According to the release, the party's Standing Committee member Selima Rahman and Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu have been named vice chairpersons of the committee. Mohammad Ismail Zabihullah has been appointed as the chief coordinator.
The other committee members are: Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Ziauddin Haider, Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, Mahdi Amin, Saleh Shibli, AKM Wahiduzzaman, Saimum Parvez, Rehan Asad, Zubair Babu, Major (retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar, Abdul Kaiyum, Barrister Giasuddin Rimon, Humayun Kabir, ABM Abdus Sattar, Mohammad Zakaria, Mostakur Rahman, Advocate Belayet Hossain Mridha, Mehedul Islam, Farhad Halim Donor, Professor Morshed Hasan Khan, Advocate Kamrul Islam Sajal, Professor Harun-or-Rashid, Engineer Shoaib Bashari Hablu, Kamruzzaman Kaiser, Ishtiaq Aziz ul-Wafat, Abdul Monayem Munna, Afroza Abbas, Monir Khan, Anam Khalilur Rahman Ibrahim, Yasin Ali, Abul Kalam Azad, Maulana Kazi Md Selim Reza, Rakibul Islam Rakib, and Anwar Hossain.
The BNP has requested all concerned to extend full cooperation in carrying out the responsibilities of this committee.
