Myanmar's BGP detain 9 fishers in Teknaf
All of them are the residents of Shah Porir Island in Sabrang Union.

Members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) on Tuesday detained nine Bangladeshi fishers from the estuary of Naf river and Bay of Bengal at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.
Though 24 hours have passed, the BGP did not return the fishermen.
The detained fishermen are Md Nurul Alam Hossain (30), Md Ismail Hossain (20), Md Elias (22), Md Yunus (18), Md Kalu Mia (18), Md Saiful Islam (18), Md Salim Hossain (20) Md Aftab Hossain (20) and Md Lalu Mia (25). All of them are the residents of Shah Porir Island in Sabrang Union.
Confirming the matter, Nurul Amin, Union Parishad member of Sabrang Union, said that he had informed the concerned authorities about the case.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Faisal Hasan Khan, commander of BGB Camp 2 in Teknaf, said, "BGP acknowledged to detain them for fishing at its border. However, they have assured that they will release the fishermen."
Earlier, a Bangladeshi fisherman died hours after he had been shot allegedly by Myanmar BGP in the Naf river in Cox's Bazar on Saturday evening.
