MPO teachers to hold long march to Secretariat tomorrow demanding increased allowance
They said their work abstention will continue and classes in MPO-enlisted educational institutions across the country will remain suspended.

Teachers of MPO-enlisted education Institutions will hold a long march towards the Secretariat from the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka at 12pm tomorrow (14 October), demanding an increase in house rent and medical allowance.
The programme was announced by Delwar Hossain Azizi, member secretary of the Alliance for Nationalisation of Education, at the Central Shaheed Minar this evening.
Yesterday, the teachers announced a work abstention programme starting today, protesting the attack on demonstrating teachers in front of the National Press Club and demanding an increase in allowance.
Azizi said their work abstention will continue and classes in MPO-enlisted educational institutions across the country will remain suspended.
Meanwhile, students of seven government colleges in Dhaka have called off their protest programmes demanding the issuance of an ordinance for the proposed Dhaka Central University, which would merge the seven colleges.
Referring to Education Adviser CR Abrar, protesting students of the seven colleges said about 80% of the work on finalising the draft of the proposed Dhaka Central University (DCU) Act 2025 and issuing the related ordinance has been completed.
They said an announcement is expected soon, prompting them to call off their protest.
