Modi should ‘reconsider’ his Dhaka visit: Mosharraf
BNP senior leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should reconsider his Dhaka visit in the wake of the Delhi riots.
"The Indian Prime Minister will come to Bangladesh, we welcome him…but he is coming to Bangladesh at a time when Muslims are being killed and mosques are being burned by Hindus in India. Bangladeshi Muslim devotees are against his visit," he said.
The BNP leader was speaking at the national council of Islami Oikya Jote at the Jatiya Press Club.

The Indian prime minister is scheduled to attend programmes marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17 next.
BNP questioned Modi's visit against the backdrop of the recent riots in New Delhi over the country's disputed new citizenship law that had claimed dozens of lives.
Meanwhile, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 'Mujib Borsho' programme as a representative of India.
