Jeddah Bangladesh Consulate cautions expatriates against signing blank papers
The consulate said that through such careless actions, dishonest individuals or groups may engage in various forms of financial fraud, preparation of forged documents, illegal transactions, or other criminal activities
The Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah has urged all Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Saudi Arabia to refrain from signing or providing thumb impressions on blank papers at the request or instruction of any individual or institution, warning that such actions are highly risky.
According to a press release issued yesterday (24 June), the consulate said that through such careless actions, dishonest individuals or groups may engage in various forms of financial fraud, preparation of forged documents, illegal transactions, or other criminal activities.
"As a result, the concerned person may unintentionally face criminal cases, financial losses, imprisonment, fines, or other legal penalties," the statement reads.
The consulate also requested all Bangladeshi expatriates to exercise necessary caution and to fully understand and verify the contents of any written paper or document before signing it or providing a thumb impression.
