A massive number of Muslims have attended the first-ever Eid-ul-Fitr congregation and prayers at the old Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) grounds in the capital's Agargaon.

The Eid prayers were held at around 8:30am today (31 March). However, the number of people was three to four times the anticipated number, reports our correspondent.

The Eid congregation was organised by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

DNCC sources said as this was the first time, there was apprehension about how big the gathering would be. However, it seems the amount of people is more than anticipated.
