Many innocents wrongly accused in July Uprising cases: Home adviser
Investigation reports in some cases have already been submitted, and steps are being taken to complete all pending investigations promptly, he says

Many innocent people have been wrongly implicated in the cases filed over the July Uprising, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (27 July).
"In cases where there should be 20 accused, the number has been inflated to 200. This is delaying the investigation," he told reporters after formally inaugurating the "July Martyrs Memorial Monument" on the main road in South Kotgaon, Munshiganj.
He added that investigation reports in some cases have already been submitted, and steps are being taken to complete all pending investigations promptly.
In response to a question about the arrest of individuals allegedly linked to the Home Ministry and Police Reform Commission in an extortion case, the adviser clarified, "There are no student representatives in either the Home Ministry or the Police Reform Commission."
Speaking at the same event, Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan said the July warriors fought for the freedom of Bangladesh's people, and the government is working to fulfill their aspirations.
Responding to concerns about inflated costs in a proposed housing project for the families of martyrs, Adilur said, "We found discrepancies in the proposal, so it has been sent back for review. A decision will be made after further investigation."
Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallick, Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat, and Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar were also present.
Earlier, family members of the martyrs, along with advisors and local officials, paid tribute at the memorial. The advisors later met with the families at the DC's office.
