Major Sadikul’s wife Zafrin gives confessional statement over secret meeting
Earlier on 7 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah placed Zafrin, 26, on a five-day remand in the case.

Sumaiya Tahmid Zafrin, wife of Major Sadikul Haque (currently under military custody), has given a confessional statement in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over a secret meeting allegedly organised by activists of the banned outfit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farjana Haque recorded the statement today (12 August) and ordered her to be sent to jail, as police produced Zafrin before the court at the end of a five-day remand.
According to court sources, the investigating officer, DB Gulshan Division Inspector Md Jehad Hossain, pleaded to record her confessional statement as the accused had voluntarily agreed to give it.
Earlier on 7 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah placed Zafrin, 26, on a five-day remand in the case.
The Detective Branch (DB) of the police detained Zafrin from the capital's Mirpur DOHS area on 6 August.
According to the case statement, around 300 to 400 people — including leaders and activists of Awami League and BCL, as well as some retired government officials — participated in a secret day-long meeting on 8 July at KB Convention Centre, adjacent to Bashundhara Residential Area.
The case alleges that the meeting aimed to hatch conspiracies against the government, including a plan to create unrest in the capital by laying siege to the Shahbagh area, with the ultimate goal of paving the way for Sheikh Hasina's return to the country.
Sub-inspector Jyotirmoy Mondal of Bhatara Police Station filed the case on 13 July.
