Major change in police admin as govt transfers 38 senior officers
The reshuffle includes officers holding positions such as additional inspector general of police, DIG, additional DIG, AIG, superintendent of police, special superintendent of police, and deputy police commissioner
After reshuffling deputy commissioners in 52 districts, the government has now carried out a major overhaul in the police administration.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs today (16 November), a total of 38 senior police officers, including the superintendents of police (SP) of Gaibandha, Faridpur, Pabna, Nilphamari, Dinajpur and Habiganj have been transferred.
The notification stated that, in the interest of public service, officers of the BCS (Police) cadre have been reassigned to new posts from their current workplaces. They have been instructed to join their new stations immediately.
The reshuffle includes officers holding positions such as additional inspector general of police, DIG, additional DIG, AIG, superintendent of police, special superintendent of police, and deputy police commissioner.
The SP-level officers who were transferred or reassigned are as follows: PBI Superintendent of Police Md Sarwar Alam has been posted as the superintendent of police of Gaibandha. Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Md Marufat Hossain has been transferred and appointed as the superintendent of police of Faridpur.
DMP Deputy Police Commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman has been posted as the superintendent of police of Dinajpur. Habiganj Superintendent of Police ANM Sajedur Rahman has been transferred and posted as the superintendent of police of Pabna. DMP Deputy Police Commissioner Gautam Kumar Biswas has been appointed as the superintendent of police of Habiganj. Another DMP deputy police commissioner, Mohammad Billal Hossain, has been posted as the superintendent of police of Nilphamari.
