Local Government Secretary visits Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant

Mr Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, visited the Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant today. During the visit, he inspected the plant's operations and maintenance systems, describing them as modern and unique, and praised the facility's management.
He advised the concerned authorities to explore proposals for using the plant's daily output of 500 million litres of treated water to recharge underground deep aquifers. Additionally, he suggested examining the possibilities of generating thermal power and utilising solar energy from the plant's operations.
Md Fazlur Rahman, Managing Director of Dhaka WASA, Deputy Managing Directors, the Chief Engineer, and other senior engineers of the organisation accompanied the Secretary during the visit.
Mamtazur Rahman, the Executive Engineer in charge of the Dasherkandi Plant, provided an overview of the project's key aspects and guided the delegation through the facilities.
The local government secretary visited the Pagla Sewage Treatment Plant project site earlier.
