Major police reshuffle: 24 senior officials, including 3 DIGs transferred
The notifications said that the transfers, made in the public interest, would take effect immediately.
The police administration has undergone a major reshuffle, with 24 senior officials, including three deputy inspector generals (DIGs) transferred and given new postings.
The Home Ministry issued three separate notifications today (4 October), signed by Deputy Secretary Tawsif Ahmed, announcing the transfers and new postings.
According to the notifications, DIG of the Special Response Unit (SRU), Md Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan has been posted to the Police Staff College. DIG Md Mahmudur Rahman of the Special Branch has also been transferred to the Police Staff College.
Meanwhile, DIG Mohammad Hasan Bari Noor of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been posted to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) or metro rail unit.
Besides, twelve additional DIGs have also been reshuffled. Among them, Saifullah Bin Anwar has been attached to the Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, while Shah Momtazul Islam has been appointed commandant of the Chattogram Range Reserve Force.
Additional DIG Mizanur Rahman of the Traffic and Driving School (TDS) has been transferred to the Rangpur Police Training Centre (PTC).
The reshuffle also involves nine officials holding the rank of superintendent of police (SP).
