Govt to recruit 4,000 ASIs ahead of national election

The government is set to recruit 4,000 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) to strengthen the police force ahead of the upcoming national election in February next year.
The Ministry of Home Affairs published a notification in this regard today (20 October).
The notification states, "To enhance the capacity of Bangladesh Police, the government has approved the temporary creation of 4,000 ASI (unarmed) grade-14 posts under the revenue sector for various organisational units, based on annual retention."
It further states that the updated organisational structure incorporating the newly approved posts must be submitted to the ministry.
"The recruitment process must comply with the cabinet division's directives regarding post retention and regularisation. The positions will be created from the date of the Government Order's (GO) issuance by the Finance Division and filled in accordance with the Police Resolution of Bengal, 1943," reads the notification.
Additionally, the notification emphasised that all conditions imposed by the Ministry of Public Administration and the Finance Division must be strictly followed, along with the completion of all other necessary formalities.
