Ex-DMP DC suspended, 40 police officers' medals withdrawn
The suspension was ordered due to his unauthorised absence from work since 25 November 2024

The government has announced the temporary suspension of Kazi Moniruzzaman, a former deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The decision was announced through a circular issued today (10 August) by the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It states that the suspension was ordered due to his unauthorised absence from work since 25 November 2024.
Kazi Moniruzzaman's prolonged absence was deemed as misconduct and absconding.
The suspension order will be effective from the date of his last working day.
The interim government has also withdrawn police medals from 40 senior police officers who have reportedly absconded from their workplaces.
A separate circular from the home ministry states that these officers will no longer receive any financial benefits associated with the medals and are required to return those already received.
