KCC official suspended for participating in AL procession
The official was arrested earlier in the day in a case filed at Harintana Police Station over the incident

Robiul Alam, a demand assistant in the tax collection wing of Khulna City Corporation (KCC), has been suspended for taking part in an Awami League protest procession in Khulna.
A departmental case has also been filed against him.
The suspension order, signed by KCC Secretary Sharif Asif Rahman, was issued this evening (21 April).
KCC Chief Executive Officer Laskar Tajul Islam confirmed the suspension and said Alam was arrested earlier in the day in a case filed at Harintana Police Station over the incident.
According to the suspension notice, Alam joined the political procession yesterday, violating Section 37(2) of the Khulna City Corporation (Officers and Employees) Service Rules, 1993, which prohibits KCC employees from participating in political activities or engaging in actions against the state's interests.
Video footage reportedly shows him riding a motorcycle in the Zero Point area during the procession. He was wearing a mask, but his motorcycle displayed a KCC sticker.
Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Haider confirmed the arrest, saying that authorities are reviewing whether Alam participated in other protest activities.
The Awami League's Khulna district unit held the rally at Zero Point yesterday, demanding the abolition of the International Crimes Tribunal, withdrawal of cases against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and her return to the country through due process.
