Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury sworn in as HC permanent judge
The President appointed Additional Judge of the High Court Division Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury as a permanent judge of the same division.
Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury today (24 September) took the oath as a permanent judge of the High Court Division.
Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury administered the oath to Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge at 11:00 am in the presence of judges of both divisions of the Supreme Court and officials of the apex court administration.
On Monday (21 September), the President appointed Additional Judge of the High Court Division Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury as a permanent judge of the same division.

"The appointment was made by the President in consultation with the Chief Justice under Article 95 of the Constitution," said a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division on the same day.
Born on 1 March 1981, Justice Chowdhury obtained an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, a Postgraduate Diploma from the College of Law of England and Wales, United Kingdom, and certificates in law from Holborn College, United Kingdom.
He was enrolled as an advocate of the District Court in 2005, the High Court Division in 2007, and the Appellate Division in 2018.
Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury was appointed an Additional Judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court on 8 October 2024.
