Jamaat seeks Australian govt's assistance for July uprising injured
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has sought the Australian government's support in providing medical assistance to those injured during the July-August uprising of this year.
"In July-August, many of our people were injured and are still undergoing treatment. I would like to request the Australian government to assist in the treatment of those who have lost their eyes, hands, feet, and limbs," said Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Shafiqur Rahman today (14 October) during a courtesy meeting Nardia Simpson, acting high commissioner of the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh.
"We discussed how the Australian government could provide meaningful cooperation in our skill development programmes in the coming days," added Dr Shafiqur Rahman.

He further said they discussed the role the Australian government could play as a significant development partner for our country.
"We had a detailed discussion on how we can further strengthen the existing bilateral interests and relations between the two countries," he said.
