Jamaat seeks Korean assistance for treatment of injured in student movement
Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Shafiqur Rahman has sought assistance from the Korean government for the treatment of the those who were injured in the recent student movement.
He met the Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young Sik today to exchange views on strengthening relations between Bangladesh and Korea during a meeting at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today.
Deputy Chief of Mission Jin Hee Baek also accompanied the ambassador at the meeting.

Following the discussions, Shafiqur Rahman shared details in a press briefing, stating, "Their cooperation [for treating the injured] is crucial for us at this moment."
He also said, "We have exchanged views on how to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries."
He stressed the importance of mutual cooperation and expressed his hope for future collaboration between Bangladesh and Korea.
Shafiqur Rahman also highlighted the recent political developments in Bangladesh, mentioning the mass uprising of students and the people's struggle against an authoritarian government over the past 15 years.
He said, "At the end of this struggle, which began as a movement against quotas by the students and youth of our country, the government took a very ugly path to suppress this protest."
He noted that, through the sacrifices of many lives, the country had temporarily gained freedom.
The ameer further discussed ways to move Bangladesh forward and how the Republic of Korea could assist in this process, particularly in working with the global community for the security and progress of the Bangladeshi people.
He also discussed increasing the opportunities for Bangladeshi expatriates in Korea, highlighting their potential contributions through honesty and efficiency.
The meeting, according to Shafiqur Rahman, was productive, with the Korean delegation offering assurances of their support.
He added, "Our discussion has been very wonderful and satisfactory. They have assured us that they will provide more cooperation to Bangladesh."
He also mentioned that the Jamaat delegation attentively listened to and clarified the points raised by the Korean side.
Present at the meeting from Jamaat-e-Islami were Nayeb-e-Amir and former MP Mujibur Rahman, Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Maulana Anam Shamsul Islam, and other senior leaders.
