IU students hold midnight procession, demand arrest of Lucky Akhter

Students of Islamic University in Kushtia organised a procession demanding the arrest of Lucky Akhter, an organiser of the 2013 Shahbagh Ganajagaran Mancha, and her associates.
The protesters issued an ultimatum to the interim government, demanding the arrest of Lucky Akhter within 24 hours.
The procession began at 1:45am on 12 March from the Zia Intersection area of the university campus, circled various campus roads, and gathered at the main gate for a brief rally.
During the rally, the speakers questioned the interim government, asking how a fascist like Lucky Akhter, an ally of Hasina, is still roaming freely.
They stated that in 2013, Lucky and her associates established a culture of impunity, which strengthened Hasina's fascist regime.
The protesters declared that those who attacked the police during anti-rape protests in Dhaka, including Lucky Akhter, must be arrested within the next 24 hours.
They added that Lucky and others like her must be brought to justice so that she cannot flee to India like Hasina.
