'International Tourism Fair' kicks off Thursday with 12 countries
The 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025, largest tourism exhibition of the country, will begin on Thursday (30 October) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital with the participation of 12 countries.
The three-day international fair is being organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), the leading trade body in the tourism sector, with the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines as the title sponsor.
Tourism-related organisations, tour operators, and travel agents from 12 countries-including Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and Turkey will participate in this year's event.
Details of the fair were announced today at a press conference held at Hotel InterContinental, Dhaka with TOAB President Md Rafeuzzaman in the chair.
TOAB Director (Trade and Fair) Md Taslim Amin Shovon briefed the media about the fair's preparations and objectives.
Shovon said this year's event would be "more vibrant and attractive" than previous editions, highlighting the growing enthusiasm among stakeholders in the post-pandemic tourism landscape.
The fair is being organised with support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Bangladesh Tourism Board, the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, the Tourist Police, and the FBCCI.
Over 220 stalls across 20 pavilions in four halls will showcase diverse tourism products and services, including international and domestic airlines, tourism boards, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts, cruise liners, and hospitals.
Side events will include B2B sessions, seminars, and country presentations while daily cultural programmes and documentary screenings on Bangladesh's tourist attractions will also be featured.
Visitors entering the fair via the BTTF App will be eligible for raffle draw prizes, and entry fees can be paid with a cashback offer through bKash, the fair's payment partner.
Speaking at the press conference, TOAB President Md Rafeuzzaman said that BTTF is the largest and most popular tourism fair in the country while its main goal is to raise awareness and promote sustainable growth in tourism.
He expressed optimism that this year's event would generate significant enthusiasm among businesses, tourists, and stakeholders, contributing to the growth of the tourism sector and the national economy.
The press event was also attended by Ashwani Nayar, area general manager of IHG South West Asia and Gold Partner of BTTF 2025, Shahid Hamid, executive director of Regency Hotel & Resort Ltd the Hospitality Partner and Md Tanzim Anwar, president of Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB).
The fair will remain open for visitors from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.
Entry tickets are priced at Taka 50 while students, freedom fighters and July fighters will enjoy free entry at the fair.
