Chief Adviser's Special Assistant on Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb has urged the entrepreneurs and investors to invest in Sylhet Hi-Tech Park.
"The government is working on how to utilise the existing ICT facilities in various sectors of Sylhet. Now, Sylhet Hi-Tech Park has around 74 acres of land ready for allocation," he said.
Taiyeb made the remarks as the chief guest in a view-exchange meeting on the newly-formulated laws, policies and reforms by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology to build an IT-rich Bangladesh at the conference room of the Sylhet deputy commissioner yesterday (6 September).
He sought the cooperation of the local administration and political leaders in recovering the occupied lands of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) and the Bangladesh Post Office in Sylhet.
Regarding the new telecom policy, Taiyeb said that with the approval of this policy, the quality of service will improve as competition in the market increases, which will benefit the customers.
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Abdun Naser Khan and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sarwoer Alam, among others, spoke at the discussion.
