Indian citizen detained at Cumilla border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained an Indian citizen for allegedly entering into Bangladesh illegally through the border in Cumilla.
The detainee was identified as Shaon Karmakar, 37, son of Shanti Karmakar of Kashipur Mission Road village in Khairpur upazila of West Tripura, India.
Confirming the matter today (3 March), Lieutenant Colonel AM Zahid Parvez, commander of BGB Cumilla-10 Battalion, said a BGB patrol team arrested Shaon 20 yards inside Bangladesh in Keraninagar area of the Cumilla border last night.
"At that time, an Indian Aadhaar card, a Permanent Account Number card and a State Bank Classic Visa card were seized from him," he added.
After filing a case against him with Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station for infiltrating Bangladesh, Shaon was handed over to police, the BGB commander further added.
