Honorarium increased for govt seminar participants for first time in 7yrs

The government has revised the honorarium rates for government seminars and workshops held under the operating budget and announced an increase.
The Ministry of Finance issued an office order on 27 May, increasing these rates, for the first time in seven years, since 7 June 2018.
The new rates will take effect from 1 July.
The honorarium for presenting at a seminar or workshop has been increased from Tk3,500 to Tk4,500. For moderators, the rate has been raised from Tk3,000 to Tk4,000.
Additionally, the honorarium for support staff at seminars or workshops has been increased from Tk1,500 to Tk2,000, and for discussants, from Tk2,500 to Tk4,000.
A maximum of three individuals can receive honorariums as support staff or discussants.
The honorarium for report writers has been increased from Tk2,000 to Tk2,500, and up to two people may be eligible for this.
Furthermore, the honorarium for seminar or workshop participants has been raised from Tk1,000 to Tk2,000.
The Finance Division has instructed that these honorariums be provided subject to availability of funds.
