Home minister orders police stations to be cleared of middlemen

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has directed that all police stations across the country, including those in the capital, be made free of middlemen.
He issued the instruction today (2 May) while visiting Ramna Model Police Station in Dhaka and addressing senior police officials and others concerned, reads a press release.
Salahuddin also warned that strict action would be taken against any police personnel found guilty of corruption or negligence in duty.
During the visit, the minister inspected different sections of the police station, including various rooms and the detention facilities, and reviewed the overall environment.
He spoke with the officer-in-charge, the duty officer and other personnel on duty, inquiring about their conditions and listening to their concerns.
The minister instructed police members to provide services to the public with honesty, integrity and sincerity.
