The bench, led by Chief Justice Refaat Ahmed, will conduct the hearing.
The date was fixed today (27 April) by a bench headed by Senior Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam of the Appellate Division.
Lawyers SM Shahjahan and Mohammad Shishir Monir represented the accused.
Several senior BNP-affiliated lawyers were also present in court, including Zainul Abedin, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Kaiser Kamal, Ruhul Quddus Kajol, Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Aminul Islam, Maksud Ullah, Zakir Hossain, Anisur Rahman Rayan Biswas, Shamsul Islam Mukul, and Azmal Hossain Khokon.
Earlier, the state filed an appeal against the HC verdict that acquitted all the accused who had been convicted by the trial court.
On 12 January, the HC delivered a verdict acquitting all accused, including Tarique Rahman and Lutfozzaman Babar, from the highly controversial 21 August grenade attack case.
The bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain delivered the judgment, declaring the whole trial proceedings of the case, including the charge sheet, illegal.
The verdict further mentioned that the charge sheet based on which the lower court conducted the trial was not legally acceptable.
