State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam through a Faceboook post requested the Bangladeshi citizens trapped in China to comply with every directive comes from the Chinese government in combatting the outbreak of coronavirus.

"These words are for those who are now in China with great concern. To stay inside homes at a stretch is a kind of quarantine.  Fourteen days are maximum, of them, more or less than 7 days have passed," he wrote.

The state minister said the Bangladesh government has been working relentlessly to bring them back to the country.

"China wants to know what kind of aircraft we will send. The registration process for those who want to return has begun. We will be able to select the right aircraft in a day or two after knowing the exact number of returnees," his Facebook read.

Shahriar Alam also asked the relatives of those who stuck in China to convey his message and encourage them.

The Bangladeshi embassy personnel have been working 24 hours a day to provide them with necessary supports. Dhaka is also monitoring the activities of the embassy.
