Ophthalmology institute’s outdoor unit reopens after 2 weeks
On 4 June, emergency medical services were resumed on a limited scale at the hospital’s emergency department

After being closed for more than two weeks, the outdoor services at the National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIOH) in the capital have resumed.
Distribution of tickets for patients from the hospital's outdoor began at 9am this morning (12 June), reports media.
By 9:30am, hundreds of patients were seen waiting to receive medical services from the outpatient department.
On 28 May, clashes occurred between some individuals injured in the July mass uprising and the hospital's doctors, nurses, officials, and staff members.
As a result, all types of medical services were suspended at the country's largest specialised eye hospital. Admitted patients left the hospital.
On 4 June, emergency medical services were resumed on a limited scale at the hospital's emergency department. At least 80 people received treatment from the emergency department yesterday (11 June).
Doctors and nurses working in the emergency department said five patients underwent surgery yesterday. They said at least 30 patients are currently admitted to the hospital's emergency department.
Doctors and nurses at the hospital said outdoor services were provided from 9am to 1pm today.
