One dengue patient died and 262 were hospitalised all over the country during the last 24 hours till this morning (28 June).

"During the period, 141 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division [out of city corporation], while 40 were hospitalised in Chattogram, 18 in Dhaka division, eight in Dhaka North City Corporation, 40 in Dhaka South City Corporation, three in Sylhet division and six in Mymensingh division," reads a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of dengue cases has risen to 9,484 this year with 41 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.

Last year, the total number of cases was 1,01,214, and 575 deaths were reported, the statement added.
