A total of 394 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals around the country in the last 24 hours – the highest number of patients in a single day so far this year. 

Among them, 157 patients are from outside the city corporation area of Barishal Division. 

However, no deaths were reported during this period.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 8,544 people have been hospitalised with dengue so far in 2025, and 34 deaths have been recorded.

Apart from Barishal, in the last 24 hours 42 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka North City Corporation and 50 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 58 patients outside Chattogram City Corporation area, 35 outside Dhaka City Corporation area, 8 outside Khulna City Corporation area and 44 patients outside Rajshahi City Corporation area.

The DGHS data shows that 4,199 patients have been hospitalised with dengue in June alone.

So far this year, 34 people have died from dengue —17 men and 17 women.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people around the nation. According to the DGHS, there were 1,01,214 dengue cases and 1,00,040 recoveries in the same year.

In 2023, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record. The DGHS recorded 3,21,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries that year.
