Line director and program manager posts abolished in health sector
The directive was issued yesterday in an office order signed by Fatima-Tuz-Zohra Thakur, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has abolished the posts of line director, program manager, and deputy program manager following the end of the sector programme–based development activities in the health sector.
The directive was issued yesterday (14 September) in an office order signed by Fatima-Tuz-Zohra Thakur, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the order, all concerned have been instructed not to use these designations in the future. It also directed that officials currently holding these abolished positions be promptly reassigned to appropriate posts.
For the past 27 years, the health sector has been operating under the Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Program (HNPSP). Through this sector program, procurement and all other activities in the health sector were carried out under various operational plans.
The fourth sector program ended in June 2024. Following that, the interim government decided to phase out the sector program and formulated an exit plan.
